Charlson Ong Book Bundle
Sojourner, Settler, Seer: The Complete Stories of Charlson Ong
These thirty-four stories are collected from Charlson Ong’s four compilations of his fiction published in a span of four decades, plus his never-before anthologized first published story and 2018 Likhaan journal story. The final story is published here for the first time. The themes cover Chinese heritage, which is a particular concern of the famed Chinese-Filipino author, strained relationships, and historical and socio-political issues. Principally realistic, the stories at times veer into the territory of fantasy.
White Lady, Black Christ
How much do we really want to know the truth?
When an explosion occurs in front of Dr. Chester Limhuatco’s condominium building, events unfold leading to his discovery of Emily, the “white lady” he has been having visions of. To discover her identity, he enlists the help of former classmate Jefferson Po, a government agent who works closely with Emily. Together, Chester and Jefferson pursue the mystery surrounding Emily and her involvement with Tata Peping, a modern day “Itim na Nazareno” or Black Christ.
